Many students and parents have been reaching out to teachers asking the same question:  "How can I or my student get my grade up?" The short answer to this question is for students to complete missing assignments, tests, or work in general for each of their classes.  BMS Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Vondra Payne has created a video and document with step by step instructions, to assist students and parents with the use of Infinite Campus to identify which assignments need to be completed.

All BMS students are enrolled in 7 Google Classrooms through which teachers facilitate instruction and manage classwork.  The Google Classroom world can be overwhelming to parents and students in terms of identifying which assignments are complete or incomplete as well as which ones include assessments being utilized for grading purposes.  To further complicate things, students can accidentally hit the submit button in their Google Classroom making an assignment appear to be "turned in," when in actuality they have not completed the assignment or they simply failed to attach the completed work.

Infinite Campus is the best tool students and parents can use to determine what work is missing and needs to be completed to foster grade improvement.  Within Infinite Campus, students can view all the graded assignments by clicking on the assignment tab.  A list of every assignment they have completed and not completed for the “current term” (QTR 2) or “missing” (the entire year) shows only assignments with grades missing.  Students should prioritize missing work, completing any tests or summative assessments first.  If a student needs to retake a test (summative assessment), they will likely need to email the teacher first to obtain permission and to have the test reopened by their teacher.

After identifying which assignments are incomplete or missing, students can then go to their Google Classrooms to find specific missing assignments.  Students may work on completing these assignments.  As assignments are completed late, or if they discover certain assignments are complete, they will need to email teachers and confirm that assignments are complete. The email should specify which assignment(s) have been submitted in order for the teacher to go back and grade the work.
