Kindness always runs deep at Bardstown Elementary School but this month Mrs. Skaggs’ fourth grade class took it beyond the walls of the school! Her fourth-grade students initiated a school wide fundraiser to help students in Panama City, Florida who were left homeless from Hurricane Michael.

Skaggs' class asked for $1 donations from students but many gave much more than a $1. Each student was given a dress down pass for their donation.

Through the fundraiser $1,476.11 will be donated to the Bay School district to help purchase school supplies and clothing for their students who have been left homeless. The Bay School District serves several families who are still without electricity and water. Additionally, the school district has many schools damaged and even demolished by Hurricane Michael.

Mrs. Skaggs’ class would like to thank the four Kentucky Farm Bureau Agencies and their peers for generous contributions to this fundraiser.
