Although we will not be able to come together as a class for a traditional graduation ceremony, we want each senior to have the opportunity to walk across the graduation stage to receive recognition for accomplishing this major milestone. This year's graduation will be uniquely designed to ensure the safety and well-being of each student and must be approved by public health officials.

Caps and gowns will be delivered to the home of every senior during the week of Monday, May 4 - 8. Every individual graduate will also receive a time and day to come to Bardstown High School's auditorium to walk across the stage. We will begin ceremonies on Monday, May 11 and continue through Thursday, May 14. Time slots will be for 10-15 minute intervals. Make-up sessions will be scheduled for Friday, May 15.

A photographer will be on-site taking pictures and each senior will receive a complimentary digital image. When pictures are ready, we will provide a link on the BHS website to download your photo(s).

A videographer will also be recording each graduate’s walk, valedictorian speeches and more. The footage will be compiled, and the entire Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony will be released for viewing on social media on our originally scheduled graduation day of Saturday, May 30th. Students will have access to the recording of the ceremony after it is broadcasted.

Senior Ceremony Details
Below are guidelines we’ve received from the Lincoln Trail Health Department that will ensure the safety and well-being of our families and employees:
  • When you arrive, park in the front BHS parking lot adjacent to the main entrance. You and your guest(s) must remain in your car until a staff member invites you to enter the high school main entrance.
  • Graduates must arrive in their cap and gown.
  • You may bring 5 guests with you, but all  guests must reside at your residence.  All individuals must be feeling well. The student and guests must all have and wear a mask before they enter the high school. Masks must remain on the entire ceremony. The graduate will be allowed to remove their mask, if they wish, as they walk across the stage and receive their diploma.
  • After the graduate completes their walk they will have a few minutes to go to your locker to retrieve personal items and any district property that needs to be returned to the school. One guest may remain with the student to retrieve items.  All others will need to exit at the designated location and return to their car.   A staff member will be present to guide each graduate as they get any needed items.
  • To ensure we serve each of our graduates, please exit the high school at the designated location and return to your car.  No extended gatherings are allowed on school property.
