Bardstown Primary School teacher Amy Kellem has been selected by the Kentucky Center for Mathematics (KCM) as a Kentucky Math Teacher Leader (KyMTL)! This group of passionate teachers from all across Kentucky were selected for the program after completing a rigorous application and interview process. These select mathematics leaders were brought together by the KCM to collaborate with like-minded educators from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky to hone and expand their skills in leadership, mathematics content and pedagogy.
Amy began working for Bardstown City Schools in 2001 and has been teaching since 2004. In 2009, she began training in Math Recovery. Fast-forward to 2016, Amy became a KCM Math Intervention Specialist. Her relationship with KCM evolved her life as a teacher and a lifelong learner. She currently teaches STEM at Bardstown Primary School, where she also serves as a math intervention teacher and provides math support to teachers. Amy is married with three children, and has been a resident of Bardstown since 1999.
