TEACHER TOOLS
Flip Book Creator - http://www.readwritethink.org/materials/flipbook/
This teaching tool allows students and teachers to create a flip
book with up to 10 pages in just 5 steps. Step 1 is to fill in fields for page
headings. Step 2 is where you choose to print in color or black and white. Step
3 is creating the pages and step 4 is printing. Two things to remember: 1) you
can’t save and 2) you can’t add clip art. But you can print blank pages for
students to write and draw on and the program has rudimentary drawing tools.
TeacherTube - http://www.teachertube.com/
Teacher Tube is a clone of YouTube, except that it is specifically
for educational videos. Some of the 1000 videos are created and uploaded by
students and some are by teachers. Subjects run the gauntlet from frivolous to
very instructional and include How Rainbows Work, Equations, Introduction
to Probability, Properties of Matter, When I grow Up and
Using Google as a Unit. If you can’t find it in UnitedStreaming you can find
it in TeacherTube and if not in TeacherTube, then make one and share it!
Units 4 Teachers - http://www.units4teachers.com/
Units4Teachers.com launched in 2001 with the goal of
providing teachers with FREE, professionally created, and ready-to-use Theme
Units and Resources for their classroom: These can be adapted for use with
special needs, levels and situations. Each week we feature a Specific Unit, or
site that provides FREE Unit Planning Resources.
Acrostic Poem Creator - http://www.readwritethink.org/materials/acrostic/
This tool explains what an Acrostic Poem is and then lets you make
one in four easy steps. Remember you can’t add clip art or save. This would be
a quick holiday activity for students to write a draft on paper and then put it
into the Poem Creator.
Brain Boosters - http://school.discoveryeducation.com/brainboosters/
Browse through our categorized archive of challenging Brain
Boosters to find great bell ringer problems and the answers are included. These
problems will challenge your students to think and work in teams to solve problems.
Crossword Puzzle Maker - http://www.puzzlemaker.com/chooseapuzzle.html
Puzzlemaker is a puzzle
generation tool for teachers, students and parents. Create and print
customized word search, criss-cross, math puzzles, double puzzles, fallen
phrases, mazes, letter tiles, cryptograms, number blocks and hidden messages
puzzles. Use spelling words, foreign vocabulary
and content vocabulary to provide students with a fun way to memorize and use
our rich language.
Glossary of Instructional
Strategies - http://glossary.plasmalink.com/glossary.html
This glossary of Instructional strategies, listed in alphabetical
order, provides a quick definition and in some cases a website for further
study for all educators, parents and students as a review for the many of new
and old educational jargon.
Can Teach - http://www.canteach.ca/elementary/
CanTeach has hundreds of lesson plans,
thousands of links, and tons of other resources. For those of you who need
songs and poems or lesson ideas we are here. Take the time to look through the
site.
WordNet - http://wordnet.princeton.edu/wn2.0.shtml
WordNet®
is a large lexical database of English, developed under the direction of George
A. Miller. Nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are grouped into sets of
cognitive synonyms (synsets), each expressing a distinct concept. Synsets are
interlinked by means of conceptual-semantic and lexical relations. The resulting
network of meaningfully related words and concepts can be navigated with the
browser. WordNet is also freely and publicly available for download. WordNet's
structure makes it a useful tool for computational linguistics and natural
language processing.

Einstein's theory of special
relativity includes electricity and magnetism in a simple, logical extension of
the relativity of Galileo and Newton. Its conclusions, including time dilation,

time and space, matter and energy. These
multimedia modules give a brief overview of relativity - they present the main
ideas. Inevitably, you will have questions. So the related links (below) give
more complete explanations, at levels with or without mathematics. Animations from Einstein Light require the
Flash 6 Plug in. The multimedia modules have animations and film clips and are
typically 2Mb. The much smaller HTML versions have only text and images. (If
your connection is slow, you might read some of the background links while the
modules load.)
