Title 1 is the largest federal education program providing support to our nation’s schools. The purpose of Title 1 is to provide additional opportunities and supplemental services in schools where students are potentially impacted by poverty and who are at risk for meeting Kentucky’s challenging performance standards. Title 1 provides all children with significant opportunities to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.
A huge component of the success of Title 1 is parent and family engagement. Involving families as partners in the education process is critical throughout a child’s academic career. When families support learning, children are more successful in school and school success helps children become successful adults.
The Bardstown Independent School District is committed to focusing this program to improve student achievement for all.
