Mrs. Sims

I attended elementary, middle, and high school in Springfield, Kentucky. I graduated from Washington County High School in Springfield, Kentucky. I then graduated from Centre College, Campbellsville University, and Eastern Kentucky University. I have earned degrees in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership/Principal Certification.  I have also been named as Kentucky’s Post Baccalaureate Student of the Year.

I began teaching 3rd grade at Washington County Elementary and taught there for 6 years. I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade at Cox’s Creek Elementary for 15 years. This will be my 2nd year at BES.

I have been blessed to be married to Kurt Sims for 22 years. I am the mother of two—Mackenzie and Damon. I also have several fur babies—my sweet lab Jake, my goldendoodle luna, my black long-haired cat named Elvira, my feisty miniature donkey named Nester, and a herd of adorable fainting goats.

I enjoy reading, being with family, camping, boating, watching my son race motocross, and cheering on my daughter when she competes in All-star cheerleading competitions.
